Shannon Colar, the founder of SCT- Counseling, is a multi-passionate entrepreneur who is constantly searching for ways to empower people to live their best and most fulfilled lives. Shannon has always had a natural knack for providing her peers and loved ones with sound advice. As life progressed, Shannon pivoted from wanting to be an architect to falling in love with the idea of being a psychotherapist. Shannon acquired her Bachelor's degree in Applied Psychology from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a Master's Degree in Clinical Counseling from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in 2013. She is currently a Doctoral Student at Adler University. Throughout her ten years in the counseling profession, Shannon has worked with various individuals facing various challenges. Regardless of the person/challenge, Shannon has found great pleasure in being an ally to each of her clients as they journey to healing and wholeness.
Present day, Shannon enjoys working with clients managing anxiety, depression, relationship issues (pre-marital, marriage, & divorce), life transitions, and creatives, to name a few.

Sheela T., Doctoral Student
Sheela Thoppil is currently a Doctoral Student, pursing her degree in Counselors Education and Supervision. She is passionate about supporting individuals through life’s challenges and helping them achieve their emotional and wellness goals. Sheela is dedicated to creating a safe, non-judgmental space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and experiences, both past and present. My approach is grounded in empathy, respect, and a deep understanding of the unique circumstances that each client brings to therapy. She believe that each person is the expert of their own life, and is here to help you navigate it. Her belief is that all clients have the capacity to createmeaningful change that leads to personal growth and healing. She work within a cultural, feminist, and anti-oppressive framework, integrating psychotherapeutic modalities such as Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Sheela works primarily work with adult clients and couples, addressing a wide range of concerns including depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and bereavement (including animal-related grief), relationship issues, and life transitions.Through our work together, Sheela invites clients to address their concerns, empower them to make informed choices, foster new insights, and build the resilience necessary for creating lasting change in their lives.
